Why Campaignly needs Meta access

This invite lets Campaignly work in the Meta ad account that runs your Facebook and Instagram ads. You add the person in Meta Business settings. Meta still calls this area Business Manager in some menus.

Need to create an account first?

If you do not have a Meta business portfolio and ad account yet, create them, then come back here to send the invite.

What you'll need

  • The Meta business portfolio that owns the ad account
  • Permission to invite people (full control of the business, or admin on the ad account)
  • The ad account Campaignly should use
  • The Campaignly email we sent you, from your Campaignly onboarding message

Add Campaignly to the ad account

  1. Sign in at Meta Business settings.
  2. In the left menu, under Users, select People.
  3. Select Invite people.
  4. Enter the email address in your Campaignly onboarding message.
  5. For access to the whole business, choose employee or partial access. Reserve full control of the entire portfolio for people who manage your business settings.
  6. Select the ad account that runs your ads. If you have several, match the account name Campaignly gave you.
  7. Set access on that ad account:
    • Advertiser — the usual choice. Campaignly can create, edit, and view ads. On newer screens, turn on partial access that includes creating and managing ads.
    • Admin on the ad account — choose this when Campaignly asked for it, for example to manage ad account settings. On newer screens this is Full control for that ad account.
  8. Send the invite.

Analyst can view reports only. Use Advertiser or ad-account Admin when Campaignly will work on the ads.

The person stays pending until Campaignly accepts the invite.

If something looks wrong

Invite people is unavailable. Ask someone with full control of the business portfolio, or an admin on the ad account, to send the invite to the email in your onboarding message.

The ad account is not in this list. Switch to the business portfolio that owns that ad account, then invite again.

Meta offers Partners instead of an email. Stay on People and invite the email address from your Campaignly onboarding message.

Meta’s own steps are in Add people to a business portfolio.
