Open the property that has your search data

Search Console properties come in two shapes:

  • A domain property looks like example.com. It covers the whole domain, including www and both http and https.
  • A URL-prefix property looks like https://www.example.com/. It covers only that exact address.

Add Campaignly on the property that holds the search data for your site. If both exist, use the one you open when you check performance. When the domain property is the one with the data, add the user there.

Need to create an account first?

If you do not have a Search Console property yet, add and verify one, then come back here to add Campaignly.

What you'll need

  • Owner access on that property. Only an owner can add a user.
  • The Campaignly email we sent you, from your Campaignly onboarding message. It needs to be an email that can sign in to Google. A mailing-list address will not work.

Add Campaignly

  1. Sign in to Google Search Console.
  2. Use the property selector and open the correct property.
  3. Open Settings, then Users and permissions. This page is available when you are an owner.
  4. Click Add user.
  5. Enter the email address in your Campaignly onboarding message.
  6. Choose a permission:
    • Full — preferred for onboarding. Campaignly can view all the property data and take the actions Google allows a full user.
    • Restricted — view access to most data. Choose this when you want a narrower invite.
  7. Save your changes.

Owner is more access than this invite needs. Full or Restricted is the right choice.

If something looks wrong

Users and permissions is missing. You are signed in as a full or restricted user, not an owner. Ask an owner of the property to add the onboarding email.

You see both a domain and a URL-prefix. Add the user on the property Campaignly named. If they named the domain property, that is the one to open before you click Add user.

Google’s own steps are in Manage owners, users, and permissions.
