What proposals do
A proposal is a professional document you send to clients that summarizes your campaign strategy, services, timeline, and pricing. Campaignly builds proposals directly from your campaign data, so you don't duplicate effort between planning and selling.
Proposals pull information from your campaigns, including deliverables, timeline milestones, and team assignments. You can customize the layout and add your branding before sending.
Creating a proposal
- Open the campaign you want to build a proposal from.
- Click Proposals in the left sidebar.
- Click Create Proposal (or the + icon).
- Give your proposal a name — something like "Q1 Social Media Strategy" helps you find it later.
- Select your client from the dropdown.
- Choose a template. Campaignly includes default templates; you can also use custom templates you've created before.
- Click Create.
Campaignly populates the proposal with campaign details automatically — deliverables, timeline, and team roles appear in the draft.
Customizing your proposal
Once created, you can edit the proposal before sending:
- Change section order: Drag sections to rearrange them.
- Edit text: Click any section to modify descriptions, add context, or remove unnecessary details.
- Adjust pricing: Update line items, rates, or the total. Changes here don't affect your campaign budget.
- Add your branding: Upload your logo and set colors in proposal settings. This applies to all future proposals using the same template.
- Include attachments: Add PDFs, case studies, or other files at the end of the proposal.
Sending your proposal
- Review the final draft for accuracy.
- Click Send Proposal.
- Enter the client email address(es). You can send to multiple contacts.
- Add a personal message (optional but recommended).
- Click Send.
The client receives a branded PDF and a link to view the proposal online. You'll see delivery confirmation in Campaignly.
Important notes
Proposals and campaigns are linked but separate. Changes to your campaign don't automatically update a sent proposal. If your campaign scope shifts after sending, you'll need to create a new proposal version.
Pricing in proposals is independent. Proposal rates don't sync with campaign budgets. Make sure they match before sending — this is your responsibility to verify.
Viewing history. Click Proposals to see all proposals for that campaign. You can view sent proposals, resend them, or create new versions without affecting the original.
Templates are reusable. After customizing a proposal, you can save it as a template for future use. This speeds up proposals for similar campaign types.
