Overview
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) integration lets you pull analytics data directly into Campaignly for audits, reporting, and campaign performance analysis. Once connected, you'll see key metrics without leaving the platform.
What you can do
- View traffic, conversions, and user behavior data in Campaignly reports
- Run analytics audits to identify tracking issues or gaps
- Compare campaign performance across channels
- Export analytics data alongside your marketing metrics
Requirements
Before connecting GA4, you'll need:
- Access to the GA4 property you want to connect
- Editor or Administrator role in that GA4 account (read-only access won't work)
- A Campaignly account with appropriate permissions
Connect GA4 to Campaignly
Step 1: Start the connection
- In Campaignly, go to Integrations → Analytics.
- Find Google Analytics 4 and click Connect.
- You'll be directed to Google's login page.
Step 2: Authenticate with Google
- Sign in with the Google account that has access to your GA4 property.
- Review the permissions Campaignly is requesting (data read access only).
- Click Allow to authorize the connection.
Step 3: Select your GA4 property
- You'll see a list of available GA4 properties.
- Select the property you want to connect.
- Click Confirm.
Step 4: Verify the connection
You'll be returned to Campaignly. A green checkmark indicates the connection is active. You can now pull GA4 data into reports and audits.
Using GA4 data in Campaignly
Once connected, you can:
- Build reports that include GA4 metrics (sessions, users, conversions, etc.)
- Run analytics audits to check tracking implementation
- Add GA4 dimensions to segment your campaign data
Data syncs automatically, though some reports may take a few minutes to populate.
Disconnect or switch properties
Need to reconnect to a different GA4 property?
- Go to Integrations → Analytics.
- Find Google Analytics 4 and click Manage.
- Select Disconnect or Switch Property.
- Follow the authentication steps again.
Troubleshooting
Connection fails after clicking Allow
Check that your Google account has Editor or Admin access to the GA4 property. Read-only roles aren't supported.
Data isn't appearing in reports
- Verify GA4 is actively tracking your site (check real-time data in GA4 itself).
- Allow 24–48 hours for historical data to sync fully.
- Re-authenticate if the connection is older than 6 months.
"Property not found" error
Make sure you're selecting a GA4 property, not a Universal Analytics property. Campaignly only supports GA4.
Need help?
If you run into issues, contact support with your Campaignly account email and the GA4 property ID (starts with "G-"). We'll investigate the connection from our end.
