Why connect Google Ads?
Connecting your Google Ads account to Campaignly lets you pull campaign performance data directly into your dashboard. You'll see metrics like clicks, impressions, conversions, and spend without manually exporting reports. This keeps your client dashboards and internal tracking up to date automatically.
What you'll need
- A Google Ads account with admin or editor access
- A Campaignly account
- About 5 minutes to complete the connection
Connect your Google Ads account
- In Campaignly, go to Integrations (usually in your settings or workspace menu)
- Find Google Ads and click Connect
- You'll be redirected to Google's login page — sign in with the Google account that manages your Ads campaigns
- Review the permissions Campaignly is requesting, then click Allow
- You'll return to Campaignly. Select which Google Ads accounts you want to connect (you can add multiple accounts)
- Click Confirm to finish
That's it. Campaignly will start syncing your data within a few minutes.
Adding data to your dashboard
Once connected, you can add Google Ads widgets to any client or internal dashboard:
- Open or create a dashboard
- Click Add Widget (or similar option in your dashboard editor)
- Select Google Ads as the data source
- Choose the campaign, metric, and date range you want to display
- Save your widget
Your data will refresh automatically based on Campaignly's sync schedule (typically daily).
Troubleshooting
Data isn't syncing
- Check that your Google Ads account has active campaigns
- Verify the connected account has admin or editor permissions
- Google takes 24 hours to process conversion data — allow extra time for new conversions to appear
Can't see all my campaigns
- Only campaigns with data in the selected date range will appear
- Switch to a different time period or check your campaign's status in Google Ads directly
Need to add another Google Ads account
- Go back to Integrations > Google Ads
- Click Add Account and repeat the authorization steps
Important notes
- Permissions: Make sure whoever authorizes the connection has access to all campaigns you want to track. Campaignly can only see what that Google account can access.
- Historical data: Campaignly starts tracking from the connection date. We don't pull data from before you connected.
- Disconnecting: If you disconnect, Campaignly stops receiving new data, but existing data in your dashboards stays visible (it just won't update).
Need help? Check your Google Ads account status directly — sometimes campaigns are paused or billing issues can prevent data sync.
