What's the difference?

Campaignly has two main account types: Marketer and Business. The right one depends on who you are and how you work.

Marketer accounts

A Marketer account is for freelancers, agencies, and consultants who manage campaigns for multiple clients.

What you get:

  • Manage unlimited client accounts
  • White-label dashboards (clients see your branding, not Campaignly's)
  • Client billing and invoicing tools
  • Team collaboration features
  • Full access to all campaign tools and integrations

This is the account type if you're selling marketing services to others.

Business accounts

A Business account is for companies managing their own marketing in-house.

What you get:

  • Single business workspace
  • Campaign creation and management tools
  • Integrations with your existing marketing stack
  • Team member access with role-based permissions
  • Analytics and reporting

This is the account type if you're a business running your own campaigns.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Marketer if:

  • You're a freelance marketer or agency owner
  • You manage campaigns for multiple clients
  • You want to bill clients or white-label your work
  • You need team collaboration across client accounts

Choose Business if:

  • You work for a company managing internal marketing
  • You run campaigns only for your own business
  • You don't need client management features
  • You want a straightforward single-workspace setup

Can you switch account types?

Yes, but not directly. If you need to change your account type after creation, contact support. We'll help you migrate your data or set up a new account.

Important notes

  • Marketer accounts can manage Business accounts as clients. If you're a Marketer, you can add a Business account as one of your clients within your system.
  • You only get one primary account type per email. If you need both a Marketer and Business account, use different email addresses.
  • Billing differs by account type. Marketer accounts have agency-specific pricing. Business accounts use standard per-user or per-campaign pricing. Check your plan details after signup.
  • Team invitations respect account type. Team members invited to a Business account only see that workspace. Team members invited to a Marketer account can see relevant client accounts.

Getting started

Once you sign up and choose your account type, Campaignly walks you through setup. If you're uncertain which type fits you best, start with what feels closest — you can always contact support to discuss switching later.
