What campaign settings do
Campaign settings let you control the basic properties of your campaign — its name, status, and core configuration options. You'll adjust these throughout your campaign's lifecycle, whether you're making a quick rename or changing how the campaign behaves.
Access campaign settings
- Open the campaign from your dashboard
- Click the Settings tab (usually at the top right or in the sidebar)
- You're now in the campaign settings panel
Update the campaign name
- Locate the Campaign Name field
- Clear the existing text and type the new name
- Click Save or press Enter
- The name updates instantly across Campaignly and any connected integrations
Keep names descriptive — include the client name, month, or campaign type if you manage multiple campaigns. This makes filtering and reporting much easier later.
Configure key options
Status
Set whether the campaign is Active, Paused, or Archived.
- Active — Campaign is live and running
- Paused — Campaign is temporarily stopped; you can resume it anytime
- Archived — Campaign is hidden from your main dashboard (useful for old campaigns you want to keep for reference)
Pausing a campaign doesn't delete any data. Resume whenever you're ready.
Campaign type
Choose the primary channel or purpose: Email, Social Media, Landing Page, Multi-channel, etc. This helps organize your workflow and applies relevant templates or defaults.
Start and end dates
Set the campaign's active period. These dates appear in reports and help you track performance against your planned timeline. You can change them anytime — it won't affect historical data.
Team access
Decide who can view and edit this campaign.
- Private — Only you can access it
- Shared — Select specific team members
- Public — All team members can access it
Save your changes
Most settings save automatically, but look for a Save button if you don't see immediate confirmation. You'll see a success message or notification once changes are applied.
Important notes
Renaming doesn't break integrations. If you've connected Campaignly to external tools (like Zapier or your CRM), renaming the campaign here won't interrupt those connections.
Archived campaigns aren't deleted. You can unarchive them anytime from your archive folder. Historical data stays intact.
Status changes are instant. Pausing a campaign stops it right away, but any in-flight actions (emails, posts) may still complete depending on your integration settings.
If you need to duplicate a campaign with the same settings, some campaign templates let you clone before creating — check your campaign creation flow for that option.
